AbdulKader was awarded the certificate of Bachelor of Textile Engineering, from the Textile Engineering Department in Damascus University in 2007.  Afterwards he worked as a teacher assistance for two years before he was granted a scholaship to do a PhD in the mechanics of weaving machine. AbdulKader did a master in the School of Textiles and Design and studied the effect of main loom setting parameters of the air-jet weaving machine.

Currently AbdulKader is investigating the development of conventional weaving machine mechanisms and 3D smart fabrics as part of his PhD research. The main goal of this research is to develope the conventional weaving machine and structure elements of 3D-fabric which can be used for smart applications. This development spots the light on the primary and secondary motions of weaving in order to take complexity out of intensive and expensive fabrication processes, and put it in a relatively inexpensive process used to make the required structures of 3D smart fabrics.
